Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 25-31:
Brianna Serret, Women’s Swimming, Alexandria, La.
Senior Brianna Serret got off to a strong start in the Ladies’ season opening meet, the Southwestern double dual, this past weekend as she won the 200 back with a time of 2:13.88, earned runner-up finishes in the 100 fly (1:01.45) and 100 back (1:02.79), placed third in the 200 fly (2:22.15), and was part of Ladies' teams that finished fourth in both the 400 medley relay and 200 free relay. Centenary was competing against the host Pirates of Southwestern University and Colorado College in a meet featuring three SCAC schools in Georgetown, Texas.
The competition began on Friday and wrapped up on Saturday. Each day featured 24 different events with a total of 48 for the weekend. Centenary recorded six top-five individual finishes on Friday and seven on Saturday. The Maroon and White also earned six team top-five finishes during the weekend. The Ladies will host McMurry in their home opener on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m.
