Karlie Delhommer was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 6th.

Delhommer, a freshman goalkeeper from St. Amant, La., played all 104 minutes of the Ladies' thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over Johnson & Wales last Friday at home, collecting five saves and securing three points in the league standings to open SCAC play. Delhommer earned her ninth victory of the season and posted her third shutout. In her nine starts this season she has allowed one goal or less in seven of nine games and she ranks third in the SCAC in shutouts and goals against average.

The Ladies are currently tied for second in the SCAC standings and are the only undefeated team overall (9-0) in the conference as they continue their best start in program history. The Ladies improved to 2-0 in overtime contests this season and 5-0 in matches decided by one goal.

"Karlie has come up with a lot of great saves on high percentage shots this year and she made two more of the highlight variety last week," said Centenary head coach Greg Cathell. "She's a great young lady that works hard every day at practice to get better and we are happy to see her daily progress in protecting the net for this team."
