After recording an assist on the game-winning goal and helping the Ladies Soccer defense give up only one shot in the second half of Centenary's 3-1 win against Belhaven, freshman Veronica Dougherty has been named the Centenary Athlete of the Week Tuesday, September 4.

"Veronica played incredibly strong one-on-one defense this past week," said head coach Greg Cathell. "She was instrumental in starting our transition out of the back, leading to an assist on the game-winning goal against Belhaven. She showed incredible composure for a freshman in her first collegiate game."

Ladies soccer returns to action Wednesday afternoon, September 5, when they host Millsaps. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
