Shreveport native and Ladies Basketball sophomore forward Bre Frierson has been named the Centenary Athlete of the Week January 7.
Frierson had a career weekend with 37 points on 15-for-19 shooting (78.9 percent) in a road split in Colorado. At Colorado College Friday night, she came off the bench for a career best 19 points on 8-for-10 shooting. She followed that up on Saturday with 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting in the Ladies 80-73 win against Johnson & Wales.
Frierson leads the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 61.8 field goal percentage - a number which balloons to 70.4 in conference-only games.
The Ladies return to action Saturday afternoon, January 12, with a game at nationally-ranked East Texas Baptist. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
