Junior Marissa Sandoval has been named the Centenary Athlete of the Week on September 24, 2018.
Sandoval had a great weekend at libero for the Ladies in a quartet of matches at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Crossover Tournament at Southwestern September 22-23. She recorded double digit digs in all four matches, finishing with 61 in 14 sets played (4.4 digs per set) while also contributing three aces.
Sandoval sits fourth in the conference for total digs (218) and sixth in digs per set (3.82) this season.
Centenary went 1-3 on the weekend, sweeping Johnson & Wales in straight sets in the team's first ever meeting. Centenary also became just the third team in 14 matches overall, and the first in SCAC play, to take a set off of #2 Colorado College.
The Ladies return to action Tuesday, September 25, at Louisiana College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
