Junior Kyra Montes turned in a career week to be named the Centenary Athlete of the Week on Monday, September 10, 2018. Centenary finished 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on the week.

With the Ladies 4-0 start to 2018, it is the best start to a season in the NCAA Division III era and the best overall since a 5-0 start to the 2009 year.

Montes finished the week with five goals, two assists, 12 points, and 15 shots to take the lead in the conference in all four categories.

In Centenary's 3-0 win against Millsaps on Wednesday, Montes scored the first goal of the game for the game-winning tally. In Friday's 4-3 (2OT) win against Texas Lutheran, in which Centenary erased a 2-0 deficit, she scored a goal and added two assists in regulation to help send the game in to extra time.

On Sunday's 3-2 (OT) win against Schreiner, Montes recorded her first collegiate hat trick in helping the Ladies erase another 2-0 deficit for the 3-2 (OT) win against the Mountaineers. She netted the game winner in the 95th minute for her second career overtime game-winning goal of her Centenary career.

In four games in 2018, Montes has six goals (fourth), three assists (sixth), and 15 points (third) to already rank high in the Centenary single-season Division III annals. Her nine goals (sixth), five assists (fifth), and 23 points (sixth) for her career also rank high in the Ladies career records (NCAA Division III).
