Diamond Gents Fall at UT Tyler, 11-0

TYLER, Texas - In the opening game of a three-game series Thursday night, March 29, Centenary (14-8) fell to UT Tyler (16-8) 11-0.

Junior Cameron Guin led Centenary with two hits in three at-bats. Freshman Connor Poche (1-1) took the loss, allowing five hits and three runs (two earned) in 1.2 innings of work.

Leading UT Tyler at the plate was Jared Pauley, who scored the first run of the game with his first collegiate home run. He finished a triple short of the cycle in three at-bats with three runs scored and an RBI. Ben Romaines tallied four singles and a double in five at-bats with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Simon Sedillo (4-1) threw seven innings for the win for the Patriots, striking out four while allowing three hits and two walks.

Centenary closes out the month Friday afternoon, March 30, when it hosts the Patriots for a doubleheader. First pitch of game one (seven innings) is scheduled for 3 p.m. The second game (nine innings) will be played about 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one.
