SCAC Announces 2024 Baseball Tournament Bracket

Last year's tournament champion, ninth-ranked (D3baseball.com) Trinity University (30-10 overall; 16-5 SCAC) is back to defend its crown as the top-seed and regular season champion. The Tigers will open their title defense against fourth-seeded Texas Lutheran University (23-15 overall; 12-9 SCAC) in Friday's first game, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT.

The tournament opener is a rematch of last year's championship round when Trinity defeated TLU, 13-6, to take home the conference crown. Combined, the two schools have won four of the last five SCAC baseball tournament titles with Trinity taking home the hardware in 2019 and 2023 and Texas Lutheran in 2018 and 2021.

Friday's second game will pit the No. 2 seed Centenary College (19-17 overall; 13-7 SCAC) against the No. 3 seed Southwestern University (23-17 overall; 13-8 overall). Centenary last won the SCAC baseball championship in 2022 and is seeking the program's third title overall. Southwestern last made it to the final day in 2016 before bowing out to eventual champion Trinity and is looking for its first SCAC baseball tournament championship since 2002.

The double elimination tournament begins Friday, May 3 at La Moderna Field (formerly known as The Depot at Cleburne Station) in Cleburne, Texas and continues through Sunday, May 5. All games will be live streamed through the league's partnershp with Sportsgram.
