Jenny Jackson Brings Us this Week's Gym Tallk

This is sophomore Jenny Jackson coming at you with this week's Gym talk! The Ladies have really been putting in the work in the gym and the classroom. I have seen so much heart and determination going into last week's practices as we prepare for our intrasquad coming up this weekend. Shout out to all the Ladies for really putting in the hard work and being intentional.

On Tuesday, we started out with a great "dark and early" practice! We have been really focusing on HITTING those handstands and being super confident in our skills. In the afternoon, we got the privilege to work on Sylvia Keiter's memorial that is going on campus. Being able to put our love and hard work into building this memorial is just us giving back to Syl for being such a light in the world and our lives. We have dedicated this season to Sylvia and living it BIG for her! On Wednesday, we had a great vault day at practice. The vault shakers are KILLING it and really stepping it up this year. To finish off the week, we had our first Dome practice of the season and man, did the Ladies rock the Dome. Shoutout to freshman Kendall Sanders for being such a rock. Your confidence and hard work is really paying off. I cannot wait to see you rock your first season as a Lady. Aside from gymnastics, the Ladies love to support our other athletics on campus. We got to spend time at the alumni baseball game on Saturday and cheer on the Diamond Gents.

As we are getting ready for homecoming here at Centenary, the first event was Monday Mania. This is a new tradition the athletic department started to introduce the winter sports. Your Ladies got to do a showcase for all the students and fans who attended. Shout out to senior Tavia Smith for your confidence and awesome bar routine and senior Navia Jordan for that beautiful beam! Juniors Dorothy Mims for your strong comeback and Cami Bea Austin for that killer triple series. I am so proud of all the Ladies and all we have accomplished so far. I cannot wait for season and to see all our hard work pay off. After our showcase, we got the opportunity to again support our fellow student-athletes and watch the Ladies and Gents basketball teams have a 3-point shoot-out and a dunking contest.

The Ladies have a full week as we get ready for Homecoming week. We will be working hard in the classroom and the gym, before the weekend comes when we have family, recruits, alumni, and fun Homecoming activities keeping us busy.

Can't wait for you to see what a fun week we have. I am so proud of our team and how we are always there for each other and motivating each other to become the best Ladies we can be. I encourage you to keep up with us for this fun and exciting week. I promise you will ALWAYS be entertained! If you want to follow/add us, our Instagram is @centenarygymnastics and snapchat is @centenarygym! Tune in next week to see how our intrasquad and Homecoming week turns out! Catch you on the flip side!

Much Love,

Jennifer Ray
