Centenary Gymnastics Program Earns Prestigious Academic Recognition

Shreveport, La. – The Centenary gymnastics program boasted a team grade point average of 3.37 and had seven members of last years' team named Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Scholastic All-Americans, it was recently announced by the WCGA.

Half of the Ladies' 2019 roster were honored for their excellent work in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year. Elizabeth Sander and Tavia Smith received Academic All-American honors all four years of their careers.  Mackenzie Packer, Natalie Scates and Navia Jordan picked up their third consecutive honor, Dorothy Mims her second, while freshman Kendall Sanders begins her career with this prestigious honor.  Three Ladies: Sanders, Smith and Mims finished the year with a 4.0 GPA.

Centenary's overall combined team GPA ranked 52nd nationally. The Ladies have finished with a team GPA above a 3.2 for the last seven consecutive years, with their top ranking of 11th in the country during the 2016-17 academic school year. Fain has had 46 athletes named to the Academic All-American list since her arrival in 2011-12.

To earn WCGA Scholastic All-America honors, a gymnast must attain a cumulative or yearly grade point average of 3.5 or better.  A complete list of Centenary's 2018-19 WCGA Scholastic All-Americans is below:
