Kirkendoll Grabs Initial SCAC Menâ??s Basketball Weekly Honor for 17-18

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Leading the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in scoring through three games played, Centenary senior guard Travion Kirkendoll grabbed the first conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor of the 2017-18 season Monday afternoon, November 20.

Kirkendoll leads the SCAC with 25.7 points per game, ranks second with 2.3 steals per game, and fifth with 3.7 assists per game. He also ranks second on the team with a 54.7 (29-for-53) shooting percentage. Kirkendoll also became the first player in the Centenary NCAA Division III era to eclipse the 30-point mark in a season-opening game, scoring 35 in an 89-81 loss to East Texas Baptist on November 15.

On the weekend in the third annual SCAC/Southern Athletic Association Classic, he helped the Gents win its first game of the season, 74-66, with 28 points against Millsaps November 18. Kirkendoll finished the weekend with 14 points and six assists with just two turnovers in the Maroon and White's 81-70 victory against Hendrix November 19.

The SCAC Player of the Week honor for Kirkendoll is the sixth of his career, and he has now received this accolade all four seasons of his Gents basketball career.

Centenary returns to the Gold Dome Saturday, November 25, when it hosts LeTourneau at 3 p.m.
