Last Week against Hendrix

This will be the third-consecutive season that Hendrix and the Ladies have played twice in a season.

Last week in Sherman, Texas, for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference/Southern Athletic Association Classic, the Ladies raced out to a seven-point lead early in the second quarter, but Hendrix cut the lead to two at half and went on to win 58-51. Sophomore Deunya Small led the Ladies with 12 points, while freshman Haylee Washington grabbed 12 boards.

Madison Martin recorded the double-double with 14 points and 12 boards for the Warriors.

Three Years Ago against UT Tyler

The Series with the Warriors

Hendrix and Centenary will be meeting for the eighth time in a series that dates back to the 2013-14 season. Hendrix leads the all-time series 6-1, with the lone win coming last season when Jasmine Morris beat the buzzer with a layup as Centenary erased a four-point deficit with 34 seconds left.

The Series with the Patriots

This will be the fifth meeting all-time between Centenary and UT Tyler, with the Patriots holding a 1-4 advantage and a four-game winning streak in a series dating back to the 11-12 season.

The only Centenary win came Jan. 21, 2012, 77-62 in Tyler, Texas.

In the Block with Freshman

This is the second straight season a freshman has led the team in rebounding. Last season it was Deunya Small (8.1), while Haylee Washington is 117th in the nation with 9.7 rebounds per game this year.

Gents Opening Tip

  • Centenary (2-1) looks to continue its two-game winning streak this weekend when it hosts LeTourneau and travels to Louisiana College on Monday.

  • Sophomore Cedric Harris (18.3 ppg) ranks third in the SCAC in scoring. Combined with Kirkendoll, if two Gents finish in the top-5 in scoring this season, it would be the 4th-consecutive season Centenary has accomplished this feat.

Last Year against LeTourneau

In a game that saw 18 ties, including at 65 with 6:37 left, LeTourneau used a 36-16 run the rest of the way to pull away for a 101-80 win last season in Longview, Texas, Nov. 26, 2016. During the run, the YellowJackets made six threes, five of which came from then-freshman Nate West.

Last Year Against Louisiana College

The Gents led by as much as 21 early in the second half, but Louisiana College countered by cutting the deficit all the way to one with two minutes left. However, two key missed free throws by the Wildcats with 1:30 left kept Centenary in the lead as the Gents won 80-77.
