SHREVEPORT, La. - For the second time in 2017-18 and the third time in his career, Centenary Gents basketball senior Travion Kirkendoll was named to the national Team of the Week, announced D3Hoops.com on February 6, 2018.
Kirkendoll also appeared on the Team of the Week on December 5 and February 13, 2017.
In his final home games of his Gents basketball career, he averaged 28 points and three assists. Centenary swept the weekend, overcoming double-digit deficits in both games - an 86-78 win against Dallas Friday and an 87-79 (2OT) win against Colorado College Saturday - to help Centenary clinch a spot in the 2018 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
On senior day against Colorado College, he scored 31 points. He tied the game with a layup in the first overtime and helped seal the win with a three and then a windmill dunk after a Gents steal in the second overtime.
Centenary can wrap up the two seed and a bye to the semifinals of the SCAC Tournament with wins against Southwestern and Texas Lutheran and a Trinity loss this weekend. The Gents take on the Bulldogs Friday night, finishing the weekend against the Pirates Saturday night.
