Pair Named All-Conference for Gents Basketball

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - In a vote by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches and released following the semifinals of the Tournament on Saturday, February 24, senior Travion Kirkendoll and sophomore Cedric Harris both received All-Conference accolades.

Kirkendoll a First Team All-Conference nod for the third time in his collegiate career after finishing Second Team last season. This is the first honor All-Conference award for Harris after he was named to the Second Team.

Kirkendoll, who led the SCAC regular season in scoring for the second time in his career, currently averages 21.7 points per game. He also sits second in the conference with 2.4 steal per game. Kirkendoll has reached double-digits in scoring in 25-of-26 games this season, including scoring 30+ five times this season. In his final regular season game of his collegiate career, Kirkendoll scored 20 points on 8-for-9 shooting in helping the Gents erase a double-digit deficit to claim the SCAC Tournament second seed.

In the SCAC Tournament semifinals against Texas Lutheran, a Gents 76-70 win, he scored 28 points on 11-for-19 shooting (9-for-12 from inside the arc).

Kirkendoll ranks seventh in the conference in assists (3.4), 15th in rebounds (5.1), and 16th in assist/turnover ratio (1.5).

Harris sits fourth in the conference with 17.4 points per game. He also led the SCAC with 2.9 triples per game and ninth in three-point percentage (38.8). He also tallied a double-double in a trio of games - including 12 points and 12-rebounds in the SCAC Tournament semifinals - and scored a career-best 29 points in the Gents 91-69 win against Louisiana College November 27, 2017.

Centenary, who beat the Bulldogs 76-70 in the SCAC Tournament semifinals, plays in its third SCAC Championship game in five seasons Sunday afternoon, February 25. The Gents tip off with Schreiner at 1 p.m. CST (Noon MST) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
