Gents Golf Finishes Runner-Up at Louisiana College Fall Invite

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Gents improved one stroke on the second day to finish second of eight teams at the 2018 Louisiana College Fall Invite Monday and Tuesday, September 17-18, at the par-72 Links on the Bayou Golf Course in Alexandria, La.

Centenary's A team (611, +35) finished 15 strokes behind tournament champion LeTourneau. Belhaven took third, 14 strokes behind the Gents. Centenary also finished 27 strokes ahead of rival Louisiana College, who took sixth. Centenary's B team (666, +90) took eighth, but improved its second day score by four strokes.

The Gents claimed three top-10 finishes, including juniors Reed Balcerowicz and Brodey Warner finishing third and fourth. Balcerowicz improved four strokes on the second day to fire an even-par 72 to finish with a total of 148 (+4). Warner finished two over after round one and three over in round two to finish with a 149 total (+5).

Sophomore Harrison John carded a 152 (+8) total to take seventh. Rounding out the A team for the Gents, senior Edvard Granrud shot four strokes better the second round and finished with a 162 total (+18) to place in a tie for 23rd.

On the B team, junior Taylor Wells finished in a tie for 17th with a 160 (+16), shooting four strokes better for round two. Classmate Donald Frazier also shot four strokes better in round two and tied Granrud with a 162 (+18). Freshman Ryan Harris placed 34th (167, +23), senior Henry Llorence III fired a 177 (+33) to take 38th, and freshman Aric Garza placed 39th with a 223 (+79).

The Gents complete the fall season October 22-23 at the Hardin-Simmons Abilene Intercollegiate.
