Centenary Golf to Finish 2018-19 Season Today

SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary Golf will say goodbye to two seniors (and a third who is graduating but will use her remaining golf eligibility while in graduate school) who will finish their Centenary careers Tuesday, April 23, in the final round of the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

The Ladies will graduate Shannon Orlopp (who intends to attend to obtain her master's degree at Centenary and use the rest of her golf eligibility), while Gents Golf's Edvard Granrud and Henry Llorence III will be graduating.

Orlopp, who played four years with Centenary Volleyball, has played the last two seasons with Ladies Golf. At Centenary, Orlopp is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and the Order of the Omega, Kappa Pi (International Art Honorary). With Zeta, she won the Beta Iota Award. After graduating with her bachelor's degree, she intends to get her master's in teaching while using up her remaining golf eligibility.

A biology major, she has been named to the Dean's List and has also has been named to the SCAC Scholar's List following the 2016 and 2018 volleyball seasons.

Her favorite memory thus far of her Ladies Golf career was earlier this season. The Ladies went to play a tournament in Portland, Oregon, and Orlopp had the opportunity to see family and her family was able to watch her play.

For the Gents, Llorence played in his final collegiate tournament in March at the Hal Sutton Invite. He is also a member of the TKE fraternity at Centenary. An economics major, Llorence plans to pursue a career in the finance industry at Northwestern Mutual.

His favorite Centenary golf memory came Llorence's freshman season. The Gents went to play a tournament at Berry Creek in Round Rock, Texas, but the team was rewarded with the experience to play at one of the top courses in Texas – Boot Ranch.

The final senior who is finishing his career Tuesday is Granrud. A psychology major with a minor in political science, he is on the Honor Court and Kappa Sigma. He is also in five honor societies: General Scholarship (Alpha Chi), Psychology (Psi Chi), Leadership (Omicron Delta Kappa), Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science), and Student-Athlete honorary (Chi Alpha Sigma). He was also named to the SCAC Scholar's List following each of his first three seasons.

Following graduation, Granrud plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology. His favorite memory was any tournament he and Henry "Tee It Up" Llorence went on together.

Centenary Golf concludes the season with the final round of the 2019 SCAC Championships Tuesday, April 23.
