Gladewater, Texas – The Centenary men's golf team finished fifth in the Tempest Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Tempest Golf Club in Gladewater, Texas, hosted by LeTourneau University.

The Gents shot rounds of 314-306-323 for a two-day total of 943. Tyler Junior College and the host LeTourneau University YellowJackets tied for first place title after posting identical 922 total scores but the Apaches won the title in a scorecard playoff after LeTourneau was not able to field a fifth player in the final two rounds due to injury. Ten teams competed in the two-day event at the 7,229-yard, par-72 course. Texas Lutheran's Chase Maus shot 2-under Tuesday to win the individual title by two strokes over Webster's Will Hocker with a winning score of 222.

Webster University finished third and Texas Lutheran places fourth, just ahead of Centenary. Senior Brodey Warner (Brookeland, Texas) was the Gents' top finisher as he placed third overall after shooting a final-round 76. He shot 79-72-76 – 227 for the tournament. Fellow senior Reed Balcerowicz (Crosby, Texas) finished in a tie for 15th place and Harrison John (Lafayette, La.) tied for 26th. Gents freshman Richard Polan finished 30th and Shreveport native Taylor Wells (C.E. Byrd) finished in 55th place.

The Gents have had a successful fall so far as they claimed the team title at the Louisiana College Fall Invitational at Links on the Bayou Golf Course last month. Polan tied for second in that event and Warner, Balcerowicz, and John all placed in the top 10. So, with Warner's third-place finish Tuesday, the Gents now have had five golfers earn top-10 finishes this season. #GoCentenary #CTheopportunity
