CJ Seling enters his second season as an assistant coach of the Gents lacrosse program after serving as head coach from 2019-22.

Seling was named the interim head coach prior to the 2018-19 club season, and was then named the permanent head coach for Centenary's first varsity season in four years in 2019-20.

He began his coaching career in 2015 with C. E. Byrd High School where he focused on player development and growth at the junior varsity level. In 2017, he was presented with the opportunity to become the head club coach of Louisiana Tech University. In the Bulldogs' second year of competition, Seling led the team to a 10.5 goals per game average. 

The Gents closed their 2022 season with a dominant 17-3 non-conference victory over the Warren Wilson College Owls as they finished with four wins in the final five games. Centenary went 4-7 overall and finished 4-1 on the road. The Gents recorded a 16-12 win over the Huntingdon College Hawks on April 13 in Montgomery, Ala. and wasted no time in establishing a new season high in goals in the season finale two days later, scoring a whopping 33 goals in the final two games.

Sophomore D Matthew Lulich (New Orleans, La.) was named to the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) second team. Lulich, one of the conference's top defensive players, started all 11 games and recorded 27 ground balls (third on team), 17 caused turnovers, and one assist. Junior John-Mark Waniewski (Bossier City, La.) was named to the conference's Spring Sportsmanship Team and also excelled and impressed on the field as he ranked second on the team with 21 goals and added three assists for a total of 24 points, third-most on the team.

Sophomore M/A Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.) scored a team-best 25 goals and added eight assists for 33 points, freshman A G'Colby Spivey (Dallas, Texas) turned in a stellar rookie season with 20 goals, five assists, and 25 points, and fellow freshman, A Braxton Parchman (Shreveport, La.) finished with 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 total points. Junior M/A Kyle Comi (Allen, Texas) had 12 goals and six assists (18 points) while freshman MF Marc Mackey (Houston, Texas) finished the season with 10 goals and five assists for 15 points.

In 2021, the Gents finished their regular season with a flourish on April 24 as the Maroon and White scored a program record number of goals in an impressive 18-8 rout of Dallas on the road. Seling led the Gents to several notable achievements in 2021. Centenary claimed its first victory since reestablishing as a varsity program on March 7, 2021 as the Maroon and White defeated Dallas 7-4 at Mayo Field. The Gents finished their regular season with a flourish on April 24 as the Maroon and White scored a program record number of goals in an impressive 18-8 rout of Dallas on the road to complete the season sweep. The Gents also made their postseason debut as a program on April 30 as they faced Southwestern in the semifinals of the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Centenary was well-represented in regards to postseason honors as freshman midfielder Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.) was named the 2021 SCAC Co-Newcomer of the Year and he was joined on the All-SCAC second team by sophomore M/A Kyle Comi (Allen, Texas), freshman D Matthew Lulich (New Orleans, La.), senior goalkeeper Thomas Siskron (Shreveport), and sophomore A Mark Temple (Houston, Texas).
