CONWAY, Ark. – The Gents stopped all five shots faced in the first half, but the Lynx responded with a score in the second half as Centenary (0-1) fell to Rhodes (1-0) at the Hendrix Invitational Friday night, August 31.

"The guys played hard and fought until the final whistle," said Gents Soccer coach Kyle Symczak. "We need to sharpen things up in the final third, but we can certainly build on the willingness to compete that we showed today."

Earning his first collegiate start in goal for the Gents, freshman Sami Borchalli recorded six saves on seven shots faced. His counterpart for Rhodes, Will Birka-White, grabbed his only shot faced.

Senior Andre Anasi put the only shot on target for the Gents in the 81st minute.

Rhodes' Austin Ly scored the lone goal of the contest in the 63rd minute, leading the team with three total shots.

Centenary returns to action Sunday afternoon, September 2, against host Hendrix. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
