CONWAY, Ark. – Apparently, the Gents really liked the number 19.

A little more than 19 minutes into the game, the Gents scored the equalizer. With a little less than 19 minutes left in regulation, they netted the game-winner as Centenary (1-1) rallied for a 2-1 win against Hendrix (1-1) in Conway, Arkansas, Sunday afternoon, September 2.

While the Warriors scored a goal shortly into the contest, Centenary quickly tied the game. In the 20th minute, sophomore Shim Eliya found classmate Gin Pau for the game-tying goal. In the 72nd minute, sophomore Greg Petreas scored his third collegiate goal, and first game-winner, to give the Gents the 2-1 lead.

Freshman Sami Borchalli picked up the win in goal, grabbing six saves for the second straight game. Josh Neumann took the loss for the Warriors, allowing a pair of goals on five shots faced.

After being outshot 7-2 in shots on target in the first half, Centenary led 3-0 in that category in the second.

The Gents return to action Friday, September 7, for its first home game and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest of 2018. Centenary will take on Texas Lutheran at 5 p.m., with the Ladies taking on the Bulldogs approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Gents game.
