Pair of Goals in Each Half Drops Gents Soccer

SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary (1-9-1, 0-8-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fell to Colorado College (6-3, 5-2 SCAC) 4-0 Friday night, September 28, at C.E. Byrd High School.

The visiting Tigers got on the board in the seventh minute when Keenan Amer served the ball in the box and John Schuler put the ball in the upper 90 far post. Amer later scored his first goal of the season off of Miles Montgomery's saved shot in the 49th minute. Montgomery scored Colorado College's final goal of the first half in the 26th minute, while Henry Schuler scored the final goal of the game when he rebounded Skyler Starkragsdale shot that hit the crossbar in the 65th minute.

After no shots in the first half, the Gents were able to put more pressure on the Tigers in the second half. In the 69th minute, freshman Sethan Ward put a shot on target that Colorado College's Keller Mochel grabbed for his only save of the game.

Freshman goalie Sami Borchalli played 76:33 in goal for Centenary and tallied five saves. Freshman Patrick Riley came in for the final 13:27. While he did not record a save, he immediately broke up a scoring opportunity for the Tigers shortly after entering the contest.

Centenary returns to the pitch Sunday morning, September 30, for its first ever meeting with Johnson & Wales. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
