Shreveport – Tommy Haney has joined the Centenary men's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach, Gents' head coach Kevin White announced.
Haney, a native of Wylie, Texas, played collegiately for Austin College for four years (2005-08) and served as team captain his senior season.
I am very excited to have Tommy on staff for this program," said White. He brings good experience from his playing days at the Division III level and from his coaching experience at many private schools across the country. He will certainly add value to our program in practices, games and in recruiting. I believe he will bring nothing but good things to what we are doing and trying to accomplish here at Centenary."
Haney grew up playing club soccer in the Dallas area and has spent the last 13 years coaching at the college, high school, and club level in Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Florida.
He is an accomplished coach as he has helped lead several different teams to multiple tournament and district finals as well as state semifinals and league championships.
"I'm extremely happy to join the team," said Haney. Centenary stood out in my search as a program I wanted to be a part of. I'm looking forward to helping the boys improve on the results from last year and to achieve their goals."
