Vincent Manuel enters his second season as assistant coach for the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams.

Manuel, a native of Gretna, La., ran collegiately at Grambling State University and was a conference indoor and outdoor champion in 2012 for the Tigers. He later competed professionally in both the 200m and high jump and his personal best score in the 200 is 20.52 and 7”5 ¾ in the high jump. Manuel is a Level 1 USATF Track & Field Certified Coach. He coached the LHSAA 4A State Champion in the 100-meter hurdles Ursuline Academy (New Orleans) in 2017 as well as the runner up in the triple jump.

Manuel helped lead the Gents to a sixth-place finish at the conference championships in his first season while the Ladies placed seventh. The Gents were paced all season by junior Xavier Venious (Bossier City, La.) as he capped his impressive campaign by being named All-West Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Venious was honored as one of the region's top-five individuals in the 400-Meter Hurdles. He was named to the 2023 SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team following the season.
