Softball Selected As "Team of the Week"
The Centenary softball team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Ladies took two of three games at home this past weekend over the Southwestern University Pirates Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play at home.
Shreveport - The Centenary softball team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Ladies took two of three games at home this past weekend over the Southwestern University Pirates Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play at home.
The Ladies (17-22, 12-9 SCAC) opened the series with an 11-0 run-rule shutout win in five innings on Friday night and then split a doubleheader on "Senior Day" Sunday, winning 7-0 in game one and falling 3-0 in game two. Centenary tied the division III era (2012-present) single-season record for conference wins by virtue of its game one win on Sunday.
Centenary has earned the No. 4 seed in next weekend's SCAC Championship in San Antonio, Texas and will face No. 5 seed Trinity (13-26, 10-10 SCAC) at 11 a.m. on Friday in the first game of the weekend.
