HOW SWEEP IT IS! Softball Walks Off Pirates To Complete Weekend Sweep

Senior Abby Touchet (Shreveport, La.) drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a 7-6 victory and clinch a series sweep over the Southwestern University Pirates in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at the Centenary Softball Complex.

Shreveport – Senior Abby Touchet (Shreveport, La.) drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a 7-6 victory and clinch a series sweep over the Southwestern University Pirates in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at the Centenary Softball Complex.

The Ladies (9-11, 6-8 SCAC) rallied from a 6-0 deficit after five innings to complete the comeback and after winning game one of Saturday's doubleheader 5-1, they finished off a weekend sweep of the Pirates (12-13, 10-5 SCAC). Centenary won the series opener on Friday 6-0.

Senior Emma Shepherd (Athens, La.) made history in game one of the DH as she struck out 14 batters, which is the most by a Centenary pitcher in a single game in the division III era (2012-present) of the program. Shepherd (3-3) went the distance and allowed one earned run and two hits in her seven innings of work. Shepherd's 14 K's are the most by a SCAC pitcher in a game this season.

The Ladies will take a break from conference play on Tuesday as they will face LeTourneau Unversity in a non-conference DH at home (4/6 PM).
