Ladies Basketball Drops Weekend Finale to Millsaps

CONWAY, Ark. – Centenary (0-4) lost to Millsaps (2-1) in the first game of the final day of the 2018 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference/Southern Athletic Association Classic Sunday morning, November 18.

Priya Ponia came off the bench for a team-leading 10 points.

Trailing 62-45 in the fourth, the Ladies scored 10 unanswered. Sophomore Jerlicia Morris hit back-to-back threes around a defensive stand Sophomore Na'Lani Zeno picked up a steal and finished with a fastbreak layup. After a stop, Zeno hit another jumper.

Millsaps led by eight after one quarter and 25-17 less than a minute into the second before ending the half on a 15-1 run. The Majors used a 34-12 advantage in points in the paint. Anna Wilson led the Majord with 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting.

Centenary takes a week off before returning to action against Hendrix next Sunday, November 25. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
