SHREVEPORT, La. – Ladies and Gents Tennis, under the direction of first year head coach Matt Coomer, released the 2019 schedule Thursday, January 17.
"There are no easy matches for us this season," said Coach Coomer. "It will be a very challenging and competitive spring for both teams. I believe it is a perfect schedule for the development of all our new players and the continued growth of our returners. I'm very excited to lead the Ladies and the Gents in my first season!"
The spring tennis schedule begins with a trip to Kerrville, Texas, for four matches at Schreiner February 9-10. On February 9, Centenary takes on the host Mountaineers at 9 a.m. and Texas Lutheran at 2 p.m. On February 10, the Ladies and Gents take on Howard Payne at 9 a.m. and Sul Ross State at 1 p.m.
Following a week off, Centenary finishes off February in Shreveport. The Gents take on Dallas Baptist on Friday, February 22, before both teams play a trio of matches to close out the month. On Saturday, February 23, the Ladies and Gents take on Millsaps at 10 a.m. and finish the day against Austin College at 4 p.m. Centenary closes out the weekend against LeTourneau at 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 24.
Centenary finishes off the homestand against Texas Lutheran on March 9 before three matches on the road. The Ladies and Gents take on rival Louisiana College on March 10 before taking on NCAA Division II Ouachita Baptist on March 14. The road trip concludes in Marshall, Texas, March 22 against Concordia.
Centenary hosts Louisiana College on March 23 before taking on Oklahoma Baptist on March 30 in Magnolia, Arkansas. The Ladies and Gents host the University of Ozarks March 31 for Senior Day.
Centenary takes to the road to take on Belhaven (April 6) and UT-Dallas (April 13) before travelling to Sherman, Texas, for the 2019 SCAC Tournament April 19-21.
