Ladies Tennis Falls to LSU Shreveport, 7-2

SHREVEPORT, La. - Ladies Tennis took fifth and sixth singles on Sunday morning, March 17, as Centenary (1-6) lost to LSU Shreveport (2-1) 7-2.

Freshman London Todd rallied from a set down to win in a tiebreaker. After dropping the first set 6-1, she blanked Madison Reichard of the Pilots in the second set. In the tiebreaker, Todd received the winning point, 10-6.

"I am happy with the way she stayed tough and was able to make adjustments to her game after losing early in the first set," said head coach Matt Coomer.

At sixth singles, freshman Laerke Solnaes and Katie Smith of LSU Shreveport both took sets 6-4 before Solnaes won the winning point in a tiebreaker, 10-6.

"She won a very even match today. Laerke was able to raise her game today in the big moments. The match could have gone to either player," said Coomer.

The Ladies Tennis team returns to action Friday morning, March 22, when they take on Concordia in Marshall, Texas. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
