Ladies Volleyball Finishes Fourth in SCAC, Qualifies for the SCAC Tournament

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – History continues to be made for Ladies Volleyball when the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the seeding and bracket for the upcoming conference tournament, November 2-4 at Dallas in Irving, Texas. Centenary will take on host Dallas at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the first match of the quarterfinal.

Centenary (16-17, 7-9 SCAC) recorded their highest conference finish in program history, finishing in a three-way tie with the host Crusaders and Austin College (16-16, 7-9 SCAC). However, Dallas (19-13, 7-9 SCAC) swept the Ladies and split with Austin College to claim the fourth seed. Centenary claimed the fifth seed thanks to a sweep of Austin College.

In 2018, the Ladies finished with their most conference wins in program history. With a split on Sunday in the final conference matches of the season, Centenary also tied the program record for wins in a season in the Gold Dome (8-2).

Colorado College (29-2, 15-1 SCAC) and Trinity (24-5, 15-1 SCAC) split the Regular Season SCAC Championship, but Colorado College claimed the top seed and Trinity the second seed on tie breakers. Both teams have a bye to the semifinals on Saturday, November 3. Southwestern (16-11, 12-4) took the third seed and plays Austin College in the other quarterfinal Friday night at 6 p.m.

If the Ladies knock off Dallas, they will play Colorado College Saturday at noon. If they lose, they take on the loser of Austin College and Southwestern Saturday night at 5 p.m. in the fifth place match.

Centenary finishes the regular season Tuesday, October 30, when it plays at Jarvis Christian. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Hawkins, Texas.
