L'Muriell Thrower enters her third season as assistant coach of the Ladies, as the former Grambling State University student-athlete joined the staff in August of 2021.

Thrower, who was born in Houston but grew up in Shreveport, prepped at Evangel Christian Academy before her successful collegiate career at Grambling. She was a member of the Dean's list in 2016 and the President's List in 2017. She also received the "2018 Overachiever award" and "Heart of the Team" award in 2019. She was named the 2015 MVP of her Evangel squad and helped lead the Lady Eagles to the district title. She was also named the 2015 Regional Volleyball Player of the Year.

She assists McDonough not only with the Ladies team but also the men's club team, which is entering its fourth season.
