Senior Tavia Smith Provides this Week's Gym Talk!

Oh, Hey Centenary gymnastics lovers! I know we had a week off of competition, but that doesn't mean you get a week off of updates!

Senior Tavia Smith back at it again with this week's Gym Talk. After the ladies slayed our last two meets with back-to-back season highs, we were ready for a little R&R. We got a couple days off of practice to treat our minds and our bodies to a little down time. This gave us some time to put 100% focus on getting ahead in the classroom in anticipation of a busy month of travel heading into the second half of season.

After a few days of rest smattered throughout our first week off, the Ladies got back into the gym with guns blazing. We got some extra time to do a lot of drills to work on details; handstands, landings, performance quality, college finishes. Oh my. Our end of season goals involve no fall meets and HIT percentages, so we were lucky to get some time to really start to zoom in on those little details that bring our scores up.

Shout out to Junior Cami Bea Austin for her tCATCHevs in between the bars. It's upgrade season y'all! Speaking of bars and upgrades… I see you Jenny Jackson making money moves ;) Good job Kendall Sanders with your new board mounts as well. Also, props to my girl Dorothy Mims for her beautiful Yurchenko layouts! She just hit her one-year mark from her ACL surgery, and you would never know it by watching her, you go Dot, Dot, Dot! We're so proud of you.

The bar squad wrapped up the weekend with an intrasquad. Way to let it swang Ladies. I love seeing my favorite lead off back in the line-up. Great job Spinny!

We have one more week to work on the details before we're back in action at Lindenwood on February 24, and we can't wait to continue to amaze!

Catch y'all next time folks! Don't miss me too much.

Love always,

T
