Ladies Gymnastics Records Highest Road Score of Season, Finishes Fourth at Texas Woman’s Quad

DENTON, Texas – In its second meet of the weekend, Centenary took fourth at the Texas Woman's Quad, finishing with a 190.425 – its highest road score of the season.

#28 Arizona won the meet with a season high of 196.450 while Air Force edged out the host Pioneers, 194.625-194.400.

Freshman Kendall Sanders received a career high total of 38.475 in the all-around, thanks in part to a career best on both vault (9.575) and beam (9.650).

The Ladies finished with a season high of 47.950 on vault, their highest score on the event in two seasons. Junior Cami Bea Austin finished sixth in the event with a career high of 9.800. Senior Tavia Smith added a season best 9.600, while freshman Xian Baumgartner added a big career best with a 9.500.

Senior Navia Jordan received a 9.800 on floor – her fifth-straight competition with a 9.800 on the event. Easily leading NCAA Division III on floor, she moved to seventh in the Midwest Independent Conference in the event with a 9.815 Regional Qualifying Score.

Maddi Leydin of Arizona picked up three wins for the meet: on vault (9.875), floor (9.900), and in the all-around (39.350). Christina Berg of the Wildcats won on bars with a 9.975, while Erin Alderman of the host Pioneers took the beam crown with a 9.900.

Centenary returns to action next Friday, March 8, when it travels to Brunswick, New Jersey, for a quad meet hosted by Rutgers. Besides the host Scarlet Knights, the Ladies will also face Towson and Bridgeport. First rotation starts at 6 p.m. (7 p.m. EST).
