  • Former Centenary Gymnast Tavia Smith '19 Awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

    Former Centenary gymnast Tavia Smith, a 2019 graduate, has been awarded a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships annually with 21 men's and 21 women's presented each of the fall, winter and spring sports. The $10,000 scholarship is available for use in an accredited graduate program.

    The Centenary gymnastics program has had an award-filled postseason and today we recap all of the individual honors the Ladies have received from both the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association, USA Gymnastics, and the Midwest Independent Conference.
  • Fain Named WCGA Regional Coach of the Year

    Centenary gymnastics head coach Jackie Fain was named the Regional Coach of the Year by the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association. Fain, who just completed her ninth season with the Maroon and White, earned the honor following a vote by her fellow head coaches. The award is the second major honor Fain has garnered in her tenure with the Ladies as she was named the 2013 Midwest Intercollegiate Conference Coach of the Year.
  • Three Ladies Gymnasts Named to WCGA All-America Team

    Three Centenary Ladies gymnasts were named to the 2020 Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association All-America Team, as seniors Cami Bea Austin and Dorothy Mims, and sophomore Kendall Sanders all received the national honors, the WCGA announced on Thursday.
  • Twelve Ladies Gymnasts Named To MIC Scholar-Athlete Team

    The Midwest Independent Conference continued the announcement of its postseason awards and honors on Tuesday as the league’s Scholar-Athlete Team was released. Twelve Ladies gymnasts made the team meaning each earned a 3.25 grade point average or higher during the fall 2019 semester.

    The Midwest Independent Conference announced its 2020 All-Conference Team on Monday and Centenary senior Cami Bea Austin (Memphis, Tenn.) was recognized for her outstanding season for the Ladies. Austin earned second team honors on both the floor and vault.
  • Midwest Independent Conference Announces 2020 Award Winners

    The Midwest Independent Conference announced its 2020 specialty award winners on Friday, after votes were tabulated by the league’s head coaches and the Centenary gymnastics teams claimed three honors. The league will continue recognize the outstanding accomplishments of its student-athletes next week, as the MIC All-Conference Team and Scholar-Athlete Team will be released.

  • Gymnastics Scores A 191.625 At TWU Quad Meet

    The Centenary gymnastics team finished fourth on Friday evening in the TWU Quad Meet hosted by Texas Woman’s University at Kitty Magee Arena. The Ladies, competing against a strong field filled with nationally ranked division 1 and II opponents, scored an impressive 191.625, and placed just behind host and fellow Midwest Independent Conference member TWU (192.250).

    Hey Ladies’ fans, it’s freshman Kendall Huff back with you for this week’s gym talk! The Ladies have had a whole week of practice and no school, due to Mardi Gras break. The break let our bodies (and our brains!) recuperate from the super busy weeks before. Some of us even got to have some fun and go to part of a Mardi Gras parade! For a few of us, it was our first time to experience one!

The Ladies are fresh off their best team score of the season (191.875) last Sunday at home on Senior Day against Southeast Missouri State University.

    The Centenary gymnastics team posted its best score of the season, an impressive 191.875, on Sunday in its annual “Senior Day” meet versus the Southeast Missouri State University Redhawks at the Gold Dome. Two seniors, Cami Bea Austin (Memphis, Tenn.) and Dorothy Mims (Huntsville, Ala.) were honored on Sunday at the end of the meet.

    Hey Ladies fans, it’s your girl Xi pie back with another gym talk. This last week the Ladies went to North Carolina and competed against NC State and William and Mary. We had a short week coming off a double meet weekend, and it was mid-terms too, so we had limited time in the gym, and some stressful days trying to make up the work we missed the previous week on top of keeping up with this week’s tests.  But never fear, your Ladies stayed the course and made it through!
  • Gymnastics Places Third At NC State Tri-Meet On Friday

    The Centenary gymnastics team placed third in a tri-meet against host North Carolina State and William & Mary on Friday evening at Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. Centenary's next meet will be held on Sunday, March 1 against Southeast Missouri at 2 p.m. The meet, the Ladies' final one at home this season, will serve as Senior Day.

    The Centenary gymnastics team will hit the road again as the Ladies will face host North Carolina State and William & Mary in a tri meet on Friday evening at 7 p.m. eastern (6 p.m. local) at Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. We have two Missouri Natives on our team (Lauryn Stiff and Madison McCary) and it was nice to get to spend some time in their home state to do some gymnastics ....
  • Gymnastics Finishes Third In Lindenwood University Quad Meet

    The Centenary gymnastics team placed third at the Lindenwood University Quad Meet on Sunday at Hyland Arena. Centenary, currently the highest ranked team in division III in the country in the latest Road to Nationals rankings, finished ahead of Gustavus Adolphus (184.800) and just behind second-place Seattle Pacific (191.425). Host Lindenwood won the meet with a score of 194.475.
  • Gymnastics Finishes Third At GymQuarters Mardi Gras Invitational

    The Centenary gymnastics team placed third in the GymQuarters Mardi Gras Invitational tri meet on Friday at The Family Arena. The Ladies, currently the highest ranked team in division III in the country in the latest Road to Nationals rankings, were joined by host school and division 1 member Southeast Missouri State and Seattle Pacific.

    The Centenary gymnastics team is the highest ranked team in division III in the country in the latest Road to Nationals rankings and is ranked 67th overall among all teams nationwide covering division I, II, and III. The Ladies, coming off of a home victory over Winona State on Sunday by a score of 191.050-186.900, will compete in the GymQuarters Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14 in St. Charles, Mo. Against Seattle Pacific and Southeast Missouri State.

  • Gymnastics Defeats Winona State At Home On Sunday

    The Centenary gymnastics team defeated the Winona State Warriors by a score of 191.050-186.900 on Sunday afternoon in a dual meet at the Gold Dome. The Ladies, competing in their fourth home meet of the season, were coming off an impressive performance on Friday against Texas Woman’s University in which they earned a season-high score of 191.650 which was the Ladies' fifth-highest score since 2013 when they finished third at Nationals.

We have really shown our grit and determination this week during practice while getting ready for our second home meet of the year. The Ladies have really stepped it up by being intentional with every turn and having no doubt in ourselves or our teammates.
