Centenary Women's Soccer Team Remains Undefeated with 4-1 victory over Johnson and Wales

Denver, Colo. - The Centenary women's soccer team remained undefeated with a 4-1 victory over Johnson and Wales on Sunday at the Aurora Sports Park. 

The Ladies (5-0) scored three second-half goals to break a 1-1 halftime tie over the Wildcats (2-4) and claim their fourth road win of the young season. Centenary defeated LeTourneau by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday in their home opener and has started a perfect 5-0 for the second season in a row. 

Senior Migui Boldrin (Ribeiaro, Brazil) scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season on Sunday as she gave the Ladies an early 1-0 lead just 12 minutes into the match off an assist from Sydney Bascomb (Mesquite, Texas). The Wildcats' Sydnee Hart tied the game with a goal just before halftime.

Betzabet Bravo (Katy, Texas) put the Ladies ahead 2-1 with the assist going to teammate Kyra Montes (Shreveport, La.) in the 54th minute. Just four minutes later Montes scored with Bascomb credited with the assist for a 3-1 lead. Freshman Ariel Muller (Groves, Texas) capped the scoring with a goal late in the match for the 4-1 final margin. 

The Ladies have outscored the competition 15-6 this season with six different players scoring goals so far. Centenary held a decisive advantage (15-3) in total shots on Sunday with eight shots on goal, scoring on half of their opportunities. Freshman goalkeeper Karlie Delhommer (St. Amant, La.) played all 90 minutes and had two saves. 

Centenary will face St. Thomas on Friday, Sept. 20 in a match set for 5 p.m. in Houston and then the Ladies return home on Sept. 24 for the first of four consecutive matches at Mayo Field. #CTheOpportunity
