Women's Soccer Returns To SCAC Play Friday

Dallas – The Centenary women's soccer team returns to conference play when the Ladies face the University of Dallas Crusaders on Friday in a road Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match set for 5 p.m. on Friday at the University of Dallas soccer complex.

The Ladies (12-1, 3-1 SCAC) are coming off of an impressive 6-1 victory over Louisiana College at home on Monday. Centenary is currently one game back of Dallas (8-4-1, 4-0 SCAC) in the conference standings and the Crusaders are tied with Trinity, who is 5-0 in SCAC play. The Ladies are off to their best start to a season in the division III era as their 12 wins this season are the most in the span and the Maroon and White are now 7-0 at home and have allowed one goal or less in all seven matches, outscoring the opposition, 19-5. Also, for the fourth week in a row, Centenary is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches West Regional Poll, as this week the Ladies are ranked 10th in the Region.

Centenary defeated Dallas, 2-1, back on Sept. 29 at Mayo Field but that was before conference play began. The Crusaders have won five in a row entering Friday's play and all five have been shutouts. Dallas has outscored the opposition 8-0 during the streak and in fact the Ladies are the last team to score against them. Centenary has only allowed more than one goal in a match twice this season and not since September 4 at Millsaps. The Ladies have outscored their opponents 27-11 in their last 10 matches. The Ladies' potent offense will test the defense of the Crusaders, especially senior goalkeeper Olivia Severson, who was named this week's SCAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Senior midfielder Migui Boldrin (Ribeiaro, Brazil) leads the SCAC in goals with 13 and has added four assists for 30 points, which also leads the league. Fellow senior and Shreveport native Kyra Montes and Boldrin help form the most dangerous and productive offensive duo in the conference as they rank first and second in points, points per game, and goals per game. Montes ranks first in points per game and assists per game, and second in assists and points. She is tied for third in goals and the two are tied for first with four game-winning goals each. Boldrin leads the SCAC in shots, shots per game, points, and goals, and is second in points per game. The two are tied at the top in goals per game.

Live stats and live video via College TV Ticket will be available for Friday's match. The Ladies continue SCAC play on Sunday as they travel to Sherman, Texas to face Austin College on at Noon. #GoCentenary #CTheOpportunity
