Tennis drop season finale 9-0 to Newberry

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (1-19, 0-11 SAC) wrapped up the 2017 season Sunday afternoon at home, loosing by a final of 9-0 to the Newberry College Wolves (14-9, 6-5 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference tennis action.

Newberry took a 3-0 following doubles play as the Tornados No. 1 through No. 3 tandems all fell by finals of 8-0. As No. 1 one doubles, Kelsey Kushner (Tampa, Fla.) and Sam Miranda (Valley City, Ohio), No. 2 team of Katie Hatter (Cedar Mountain, N.C.) and Audrey Cardwell (Denver, N.C.) and No. 3, Gabi Harness (East Flat Rock, N.C.) and Carmen Boone (Hudson, N.C.) all fell in straight points.

Singles action would belong all to the Wolves as well as the Tornados No. 2 through No. 6 singles all lost 6-0, 6-0, while Kushner at No. 1 after dropping the opening match 6-0 picked up a game in the second frame, before falling by a final of 6-1.
