Tom Jackson is currently beginning his first season in 2017-18 with Ladies and Gents tennis after serving as a volunteer assistant coach for Gents basketball for seven seasons.

Jackson received his Bachelor of Science degree from Belhaven University in 1991. At Belhaven, he majored in physical education while playing tennis and serving as the manager for the basketball team. He helped the Blazers capture four Gulf Coast Athletic Conference tennis championships as Belhaven finished in the top-10 in the nation in the NAIA all four years. 

He later went on to pursue his Masters of Education at Delta State University in 1993, specifically in physical education and assisted the women's tennis team and men's basketball team as a graduate assistant.

 

Jackson brings more than 23 years of high school and college coaching of experience with Centenary.

Jackson has worked several high school and college camps since 2004. He was also a head coach and athletic director at various middle and high schools in the Caddo Parish area from 1996-2005.

His main duties with Centenary Gents basketball included community relations, game and practice prep and various director of basketball operations-type of tasks.

He is also involved in numerous civic organizations in Shreveport, including the Bayou Syndicate investment group, a member of the Downtown Rotary, a member of the Southfield Schools Board of Trustees, and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Shreveport.

Jackson is married to Rebecca and the couple has three children, Mary Laura, Helen, and Thomas. His hobbies include playing golf, tennis, hunting, fishing, working out and spending time with his family.
