The Ladies (9-17) and Muleriders (4-17) will meet for the 22nd time overall but for the first time since 2012. Southern Arkansas is a division II school and a member of the Great American Conference. Centenary has won 12 of its last 19 home matches dating back to last season.
Centenary lost three conference matches in Sherman, Texas over the weekend, falling to St. Thomas, Southwestern, and Texas Lutheran. The Ladies recorded 127 total digs, 70 kills, 66 assists, 14 block, and nine service aces.
Senior DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) had another impressive weekend for the Ladies as she totaled 42 digs and nine assists in the three matches in Sherman. Proctor had a match-high 23 digs on Saturday against Texas Lutheran, marking the 11th time this season she has recorded 20+ digs in a match. Proctor currently ranks second in the conference in digs (438) and ranks 18th in the country in division III. She also ranks 50th in the country in digs per set (5.15). Her 438 digs this season are the fourth-most in a single season in program history in the division III era (2011-present) and she now has 992 career digs and needs just eight more to reach 1,000 as she ranks fifth all-time in the category.
Senior S/RS Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) topped 1,000 career digs herself over the weekend and now has 1,012 in her impressive time with the Ladies to rank fourth all-time in the category. Demerjian is also the career leader in assists (2,849) and is currently sixth in the conference this season with 392. Freshman S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) ranks eighth in the SCAC in assists with 372.
Centenary is 12th in the country in division III in team digs (1,605) and averages 16.72 digs per set. Six Ladies have 100 or more digs to their credit this season – Demerjian (174), Smith (165), sophomore RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) with 118, sophomore OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) has 196, Junior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) with 158, and senior MB Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) with 126. St. Martin is the team leader in kills (202), just ahead of Lowe's 200 while sophomore MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) has 141. Lowe has 599 kills in her career and ranks seventh all-time in the category.
