Kerrville, Texas – Freshman Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) shot a 37-over par 109 on Monday in the opening round of the 2023 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Riverhill Country Club.

Roberts is competing as an individual this week as she is the lone member of the Centenary women's team at the event. Tomorrow's final round at the par-72, 5,834-yard layout will begin at 7:40 a.m.
No. 20 Trinity University shot a first-round 314 and holds an eight-stroke lead over Southwestern University following Monday's first round. Trinity is sitting at +26 and the second-place Pirates are at 322 (+34).
Rounding out the women's first-round team standings, University of St. Thomas is third with 331, University of Dallas is in fourth place with 339, Schreiner University is fifth with a 352 and Texas Lutheran University sits in sixth with a 366.
Trinity's Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente Molino and Kimberly Burch of Dallas share the individual lead after the first round after each shot a 3-over par 75. Southwestern's Isabel Montelongo is two shots back (+5 – 77). Roberts will tee off at 7:45 a.m. on No. 10 and is paired with Leanna Galindo of Schreiner and Emma Christensen of Dallas.
