Men's Tennis Team Drops Match At Texas A&M-Texarkana

Texarkana, Texas – The Centenary men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles in a non-conference match on Saturday at the Tennis Courts at Texarkana College.

The match was the first of the spring season for both teams. Centenary lost both of its doubles matches by the score of 8-1 and all five of its singles matches but claimed two matches, one doubles and one singles via forfeit.

The Eagles duo of Alberto Cabrillo and Alejandro Oviedo defeated the Gents' Corey Nobles (Beaumont, Texas) and junior Nathan Lim (Shreveport) in one doubles match while Kevin Tsati-onla and Gonzalo Vega bested Centenary's team of sophomore Divine Martin (Houma, La.) and freshman Nolan Tomasek.

In the singles matches, Oviedo defeated Nobles, Cabrillo beat Lim, Tsati-onla prevailed over freshman Colin Dixon, and Vega defeated Centenary's Max Wamsley. Akash Musale also bested Centenary's Divine Martin.

The Maroon and White welcome Texas Lutheran to town on Sunday for a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match set for 9 a.m. Centenary will then host LSU-S on Feb. 15.
