Gents Set For SCAC Championships On Saturday

Seguin, Texas – A pair of freshmen will represent Centenary on Saturday as the Gents are set to compete at the 2023 Southern Collegiate Athletic Cross Country Championships.

Texas Lutheran University will serve as the host for the event and the championship will be run at the Irma Lewis Seguin Outdoor Learning Center, about a 10-minute drive from the TLU campus.

The men's 8K race is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. with the women 6K to follow at 10 a.m.

The Colorado College men and women are the defending champions of the event, having swept the team titles at the 2022 championships which were contested on the campus of Southwestern University. It was the fourth straight championship for the CC men and second straight for the women.

Freshman Collin McKinney (Dallas, Texas) and freshman Eric Silvers (Springhill, La.) will make their collegiate debuts this weekend for the Maroon and White, led by head coach Joseph Moses Jr. and assistant coach Vincent Manuel.
