Track And Field Teams Complete Action In Dan Veach Invitational

Magnolia, Ark. – The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams completed action at the Dan Veach Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas University on Saturday at the Mulerider Track Complex.

The Ladies and Gents combined for three top-15 individual finishes, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the men's 800 meters by sophomore Devante' Jack (Jena, La.) as he ran a season-best time of 2:00.68. Jack finished just 14 seconds behind winner Rickey Logan of Southern Arkansas.

Senior Veronica Dougherty (McAllen, Texas) had the Ladies' top individual finish of the meet as she placed sixth in the women's 800 meters, running a time of 2:46.82. Junior Sydney Bascomb (Mesquite, Texas) recorded a pair of top-20 finishes on Saturday as she ran a time of 13.76 in the 100 meters to finish 15th and placed 17th in the 200 meters with a time of 28.48.

Sophomore Coby Harris (Lafayette, La.) finished in a tie for 22nd in the 100 meters with a time of 11.79 and was 34th in the 200 meters, running a time of 24.79. Senior Payton Lii (Dallas, Texas) finished 36th in the 100 meters (12.56) and 37th in the 200 meters (24.50). Freshman Deandre Gonzales (San Antonio, Texas) finished 31st in the 100 meters (12.32) and 40th in the 200 meters (26.04).

Centenary is next in action on April 2 in the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss.
