Seguin, Texas - The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams completed action at the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships at Bulldog Stadium.
The Ladies finished fifth and earned nine points while the Gents placed ninth. Centenary was making its program debut in the annual event. Trinity won both the men's and women's titles and Colorado College finished as runner-up on both sides.
Senior Jennae Mayberry (Clovis, Calif.) earned a fourth-place finish in the Women's 400 Meter Dash (1:02.85) and finished sixth in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 26.78. Senior Tacoya Allen (Killeen, Texas) finished 17th in the 200 Meter Dash (28.93).
The Ladies' team of sophomore Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas), Allen, junior Patience Bates (Houston, Texas), and Mayberry placed fifth in the Women's 4 x 100 Meter Relay with a time of 53.82. A trio of Ladies; Bates, Allen, and Jones, finished 17th through 19th in the Women's 100 Meter Dash. Bates ran a time of 13.81, Allen an even 14.00, and Jones a 14.61.
Ladies' seniors Ashlynn Albert (Dallas, Texas) and Lauren Pilcher (Bossier City, La.) finished 12th and 14th respectively in the Discus Throw, as Albert threw a 24.60 m and Pilcher a 19.86 m.
On the men's side, junior Paden Sisterhen (Bossier City, La.) finished 18th in the Men's 5000 Meter Run, running a time of 18:48.77 and freshman Jacob Vidrine (Slaughter, La.) placed 18th in the Men's 1500 Meter Run (4:54.78).
Freshman Kenan Cooper (St. Francisville, La.) just missed a top-10 finish in the Men's 100 Meter Dash as he placed 11th with a time of 12.61. Junior Payton Lii (Dallas, Texas) finished 19th in the Men's 800 Meter Run (2:13.47). Lii (24.91) and Cooper (26.17) earned top-15 finishes in the 200 Meter Dash as Lii placed 13th and Cooper 15th.
