Women's Golf Places Fifth in Lady Crusader Spring Invitational

Killeen, Texas - The Centenary women's golf team finished fifth at the Lady Crusader Spring Invitational on Sunday at Stonetree Golf Club.

The Ladies shot a 241-over par 817, after shooting a 125-over par 425 on Saturday and a 92-over 392 in Sunday's final round in the two-day, 36-hole event at the par-72, 5,812-yard course.

Tournament host Mary Hardin-Baylor claimed the team title at 59-over par 635, finishing 27 shots ahead of second-place Trinity (86-over par 662). Mary Hardin-Baylor's "B" team placed third at 131-over par 707, and LeTourneau placed fourth (146-over par 722).

Junior Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas) was the top finisher for the Ladies as she shot a 29-over par 173 (89-84) to tie for 14th place. Senior Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Ark.) shot a 41-over par 185 (92-93), junior Lindsay Strohm (McKinney, Texas) finished 28th after shooting a 78-over 222 (114-108), and freshman Madison Wing (Shreveport) shot rounds of 118-119 (237) to finish 29th.

Mary Hardin-Baylor teammates Jo Tiger and Sydney McConnell finished first and second with Tiger taking the individual title after shooting a 7-over par 151, three shots ahead of McConnell who shot 10-over par 154.

Final Results

The Ladies will now turn around and play in the Lindy Lowery Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Lake Cliff Golf Club in Lakeway, Texas.
