Centenary opened its season with a split versus the University of the Ozarks Eagles on Oct. 1 in a non-conference dual meet at home as the Ladies won 125-95 and the Gents fell 141-42 in the debut for Centenary head coach Thomas Radam. Centenary recorded 11 individual victories on Saturday and one relay win. The War Hawks opened their season with losses at Texas Permian Basin on Sept. 30 in Odessa, Texas.

Sophomore Madeline Vacula (Belton, Texas) had a fantastic meet as she earned three individual victories and was subsequently named the SCAC Women's Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 5, earning the honor for the second time in her young career. Vacula, coming off of a superb rookie season in which she earned all-conference honors, now owns 10 individual wins in her young career. She won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:05.24, the 100-yard IM in 1:08.11, and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:26.38. She was also part of the Ladies' victorious 200-yard medley relay team that swam a time of 2:04.00, joining junior Bryn Jenkins (Houston, Texas), Anacelia  Galeano-Balam (Baton Rouge, La.), and senior Christine Goodman (Alexandria, La.).

Jenkins won the 50-yard free in a time of 29.02 and claimed a win in the 50 back, swimming a time of 32.86. Galeano-Balam won the 100 fly in a time of 1:08.66, the 50 fly in 30.35, and placed third in the 200 free (2:21.08). On the men's side, junior Antonio Barbee (Plaquemine, La.) and freshman Donovan Tohill (Lumberton, Texas) each earned one individual win.

Barbee swam a time of 25.71 to win the 50 fly and Tohill, in his collegiate debut, won the 200 free in a time of 2:07.18. Barbee and Tohill finished second and third in the 50 free and freshman Jameson Feeney (Shreveport, La.) earned a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.89) and the 100 IM (1:08.91).

Goodman won the 50 breaststroke in a time of 35.94 and senior Katie Malicoat (Wichita, Kan.) recorded two second-place finishes in the 50 breast (36.26) and 100 breast (1:20.82). Senior Camryn Hebert (Youngsville, La.) finished third in the 100 IM (1:13.32) while Malicoat and Goodman placed fourth and fifth behind Hebert.
