Cheer Team Hits Zero At American Allstar Competition

Shreveport - The Centenary Cheer Team Hit Zero at its first competition in program history on Saturday at the American Allstar Competition held at the Shreveport Convention Center.

The team received scores of 16.8/20, 23.6/30, and 46/50 and received 1st place in its division under the direction of first-year head coach Kaylee King. Centenary will receive the results of its virtual competition on Nov. 16 as the Maroon and White will head to Houston, Texas for their third competition of the season on Dec. 3.

Centenary achieving "Hit Zero" was extremely significant and impressive as it meant that "all stunts, tumbling, jumps, dance in the performance of its routine were executed without any deductions from the judging panel."

Centenary was competing for the first time in person since an appearance at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and Universal Dance Association (UDA) College Spirit Camp in College Station, Texas back in July of 2021.
