Cheer And Dance Teams Compete In Final Regular-Season Competition

Little Rock, Ark. - The Centenary Cheer and Dance teams competed at Showdown at the Rock at the Statehouse Convention Center on Saturday, their final regular-season competition of the season.

The two teams put out a joint game day performance comprised of three combined elements: band chant, sideline/situational, and fight song at the competition hosted by Redline.

The cheer team received high remarks for synchronization and crowd appeal in their band chant as well as high remarks for spacing & formations and motions in sideline/situational. The judges were most impressed with their fight song earning them a 72.5 out of 80 and earning 9.5 out of 10 in synchronization and a perfect 10 out of 10 for strength of motions. 

The "Leading Ladies" Dance team also took the floor in an impressive hip hop performance. The team earned notable high points in movement technique across the board with every judge and also in the spacing category. 

Both teams will head to Anaheim, Calif. on Feb. 23 for the USA Collegiate Championships. Upon their return, the dance team will compete in a second collegiate nationals on March 25 in Denton, Texas.
