
Women's Basketball Set to Face Dallas on Road This Weekend
The Centenary women's basketball team returns to Texas this weekend as the Ladies face the University of Dallas Crusaders in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play beginning on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Maher Center.

The Ladies (0-4) dropped a pair of SCAC contests last weekend to Schreiner in Kerrville, Texas. Centenary rebounded from a rough game last Friday to lose a close game, 68-60, on Saturday afternoon as three players reached double figures to nearly pull off the road victory. The Crusaders, likewise are off to an 0-4 start this season, having dropped a pair of contests at home last weekend to St. Thomas.
Freshman guard Addy Tremie (Sulphur, La.) led all scorers with 18 points last Saturday and matched her career high in the process. She also scored 18 at home versus Texas Lutheran in her collegiate debut on Jan. 16. Tremie made 5 of 13 shots from the floor on Saturday against Schreiner, grabbed a career-high eight rebounds, and had two assists and two steals in 39 minutes of action. She was also a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw line. Tremie is currently fifth in 3-point field goals made in the SCAC and ranks in the top 15 in the conference in scoring through four games.
Junior guard Kristen Stuart (Kilgore, Texas) scored a career-high 17 points and added a career-best eight rebounds in 36 minutes on Saturday and went 7 of 10 from the free-throw line. Stuart, a transfer from Richland College, has been an impact player just four games into her career with the Ladies as she has reached double figures three times and scored 27 in the two games versus TLU during the Ladies' opening weekend at home. Stuart also ranks in the top 15 in the SCAC in scoring and ranks eighth in free-throw %.
Senior guard Jennae Mayberry (Clovis, Calif.) added 11 points and had four rebounds, three assists, and a steal in 36 minutes and nailed a pair of three-pointers in Saturday's loss at Schreiner. She reached double-digits for the second time this season and sixth time in her career.
Sophomore forward Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas), junior guard Alex Williams (Shreveport), and sophomore forward Destini Powell (Minden, La.) combined for 12 points, 11 rebounds, five steals, and two assists. Jones grabbed a season-high seven rebounds with six coming on the defensive end. Jones leads the SCAC in field-goal percentage through four conference games, shooting 66.7 % as she has made 10 of her 15 shots. She also ranks eighth in the SCAC in steals. Stuart, Mayberry, and Williams all rank in the top 12 in the SCAC in assists.
Centenary and Dallas will meet for the first time since the regular-season finale last season in which the Ladies White ended their season on a high note by scoring a season-high number of points in a dominant 73-51 home victory on Feb. 22. and earning their largest margin of victory of the season on Senior Day.
Centenary returns home to face Colorado College next weekend in SCAC play. The games are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 6 at Noon. Live video and live stats are available at all home games.
