The No. 19 Gents (17-2) continued their amazing offensive output on Tuesday night as they won their 11th consecutive game, blasting the East Texas Baptist University Tigers, 13-5, at Woods Field in Marshall, Texas.

Centenary is a superb 26-6 in its last 32 games and have not lost a game since falling 8-5 at Huntingdon back on Feb. 28. The Gents, who were ranked 25th in the poll last week, have scored 13 or more runs in four-straight games after doing so in all three games of a road sweep in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play last weekend over Austin College. The Gents won 15-10 in the series opener and then swept a DH the following day in convincing fashion, winning 13-4 and 16-1 in seven innings. The similarities so far between the current Gents team and the spectacular 2017 NCAA Tournament group are striking. The 2017 Gents were 16-3 after 19 games this the current Gents team is one game ahead of their pace. Interestingly, that team also swept Austin College on the road in mid-March to stand at 16-3 and 3-0 in the SCAC to extend its winning streak to nine. Centenary would then sweep its next two conference opponents and win a mid-week non-conference game to extend its winning streak to 16 games.
The Gents, who are 3-0 in SCAC play this season, are five wins away from matching that 16-game winning streak. The Gents have now scored 10 or more runs in a game 11 times this season, and 11 or more nine times and have done so eight times during their current 11-game winning streak.
Centenary resumes SCAC play at home this weekend as the Gents welcome Schreiner to Shehee Stadium for a three-game series and the start of a six-game homestand as Dallas comes to town April 2-3 for a three-game series.
