Shreveport - The Centenary baseball team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Diamond Gents completed a three-game series weekend sweep over the Southwestern University Pirates in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday at Shehee Stadium.
The Diamond Gents (14-10, 9-2 SCAC) recorded a 5-1 victory on Friday night in the series opener and then swept a doubleheader on Saturday by scores of 12-9 and 11-5. Centenary has won nine of 11 games, is 6-1 at home this season, and is an impressive 52-16 at home since the beginning of the 2021 season.
Centenary takes a break from SCAC play on Tuesday as the Diamond Gents will face the LeTourneau University YellowJackets (11-17) in a non-conference contest in Longview, Texas at 6 p.m.
